Mackenzie Gunn

Extension Agent, ANR

Mackenzie is the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent in Amelia County. She joined Virginia Cooperative Extension in January 2022 after completing her Master's degree and working in the agriculture and natural resources sector for two years.

Mackenzie grew up in New England, spending her time outdoors hiking, swimming, and riding horses.  She found a love for agriculture and food production during her time in college, and worked on a family run vegetable farm during the summers.  This passion led her to a Master's degree in aquatic disease in farm raised catfish, and time spent as a research assistant studying plant pathology in row crops.  Mackenzie is excited to work with producers of any size and experience to help solve problems, bring new information, and provide resources to help increase efficiency and profitability.
